When You Allow Yourself To Laugh

Laughter is the best medicine, everyone knows that, so why is it then we are not laughing and making it a habit. When was the last time you had a full belly laugh at something?

A smile is a beautiful thing, but it’s not a laugh. In a world where there is so much to frown upon, learning how to laugh again, like you did when you were a kid seems to have gotten more and more difficult.

Do you use laughter to dismiss something by treating it in a light-hearted way, do you chuckle away at what you are uncomfortable with to disregard your gut feelings and emotions?

Laughter shouldn’t be used in any other way but to express joy, happiness, and soul felt pleasure. Everyone wants to be happy and so you should, no-one wants to feel pain, and yet without the uncomfortableness we can’t make our way to the place inside of us that gifts us happiness.

Feelings of happiness are our responsibility, it isn’t realistic to expect someone else to fill our empty internal gap, that is our work, not there’s.

Our mind is what keeps us from letting our guard down long enough to laugh, it constantly reminds us of our responsibilities, obligations, duties and expectations, which are usually not much to laugh about.

Temporary happiness isn’t the real thing, that usually only happens when we make a purchase of some kind, unfortunately regardless of what we buy the joy of it wears out all to quickly.

Is happiness a choice, do we really get a say in whether we can or want to be happy? The past might not give you a lot to laugh about, and perhaps the present is challenging at this time, but if you truly want to feel good and have something to laugh about, then let it be about your future.

None of us know what is around the corner of our life journey, but if you have been working diligently on your spiritual quest for happiness, then trust that your future holds the key that will unlock the happiness that is waiting inside of you to be born.

Never give up of the art of happiness, there are always many things to feel grateful for, concentrate on the positive in your life, don’t let the burdens drag you down too far.

Find something that makes you happy and think about it a lot.
